Last year in the spring I was just finishing up rec league soccer and then my mom and dad had me try out for a club team. It was fun! I met a whole bunch of new friends there which I was really happy about. Then we were split into teams. There was a Blue team and a White team. I was picked to be on the Blue team. I was happy because there were friends that I knew on that team and I knew one of the coaches. The name of the team is Whetstone Park Rangers. My experience of playing club soccer for the first time was really hard because I was used to rec league and scoring a bunch of goals. On the first game we ever played I thought it might be easy and that I would score goals but the team was hard. My friend said we will have to play harder than we think. Then I did play harder and I almost scored but didn't and was disappointed. Once the match was done we got a bunch of snacks and watched the White Team play. We had lots of fun that first match. In the spring of 2020 we could not play because of Covid. We were all super disappointed but we could still have practices in the summer but no games so it was frustrating. During the spring we filmed videos doing special moves while we couldn't play. Later in the summer we could start practicing again and I was really happy. Starting in the fall we didn't know if we could start playing games but then our coaches told us we could and we were all excited. We yelled and got a cheer ready. It was sooooooo fun. This season was a great season we only lost 3 or 4 games and won 10. Last year for Rangers I only scored 1 goal but I made a huge improvement and scored 7 goals this season. One of the goals was the last game of the season in our tournament and we won that game. It was great being on Rangers a second year in a row.
My friend's dad took this picture after I scored a goal.
I love how you are so focused when you play soccer!
